BAQs and Dashboard
Different information is important to different businesses. No two organisations and no two business functions want to see the exact same performance data in exactly the same way. You need the flexibility to be able to create personalised views for your business and each department so that they get the vital information they need to make key decisions.
With Epicor ERP 10, you have the capability to develop and customise the system to suit your business’ needs. Using Business Activity Queries (BAQs) – T-SQL query definitions that can be defined once and used by safely any end user – you can build custom dashboards based on role or business function, and define relevant data for searching, monitoring or integrating with non-ERP tools. BAQs also automatically bridge security – so that when a query is run, the user running it only sees information which they have the relevant access to view. BAQs can even be updateable, essentially used as an instance-driven API to the ERP system, and when coupled with an Internet Component Environment (ICE) dashboard, can be leveraged to create an easily defined data entry form.
Epicor ICE dashboards render the data from BAQs as basic grids, charts or graphs to create meaningful information for your users. ICE dashboards can be used either within the desktop tool or be accessed via mobile or tablet, via web browser or the ERP home. Ideal for remote workers and those whose role requires them to be mobile, the interface is specially adapted for touch-based navigation. As an organisation, you have complete control over what is updated in real-time and sent to mobile devices.
Building BAQs and personalised dashboards is just one way you can make Epicor ERP 10 work for you. Find out more about other Epicor tools and customisation modules.
